Luis Bunuel’s adaptation of Robinson Crusoe

In 1954, the iconic Spanish-Mexican filmmaker Luis Bunuel released a film adaptation of Daniel Defoe’s masterpiece, Robinson Crusoe. The result, available below via Youtube, is a rather surprisingly consensual production, though it is interspersed with some of Bunuel’s favorite themes (irreligion, madness, desire and frustration), as well as touches of his signature black humour.
